This tour is a unique opportunity to visit in a single trip South Siberia, Mongolia Altai, and The Great Lakes Depression At the beginning of the 21st century, Mongolia remains one of the few countries where the old culture and steppe ancestors' customs are still guarded. On this planet, there are not so many places left that are remote, unmanned, and thus so attractive. The absence of civilization and moon landscapes, those things lately drag along a huge number of moto-travelers from all over the world. This itinerary is designed for well-trained tourists and can be estimated as of fourth to fifth difficulty category according to six-grade scale.
You will be transferred to the hotel. It is free time for having rest or walking around the city. There will be a general meeting and welcome dinner.
In the morning, you get the motorcycles and head to Biysk founded by Peter the Great. This is the only city situated behind the Ural Mountains and at the beginning of the famous Chuya Highway, connecting Russia and Mongolia. After lunch, you go to the village Kamlak where you will stay overnight.
Today, a very picturesque landscape is waiting for you. Following the Chuya Highway, you will pass along foamy rivers, colorful heights, and rocky cliffs. After a short break and a lunch at Chiket-Aman heights, you will continue your journey.
Today, moving across the Chuya Trakt, you cross the Mongolian border and an amusing ride over the endless Mongolian off-road begins. You will spend the night in traditional yurts not far from the border.
Here, you start your exciting trip around Mongolia. Through the mountain gorge, you go to the Mogen-Buren River. Here, you have a picturesque view of the tallest mountain Mongun-Taiga (3,976 meters). Then, passing over the mountain ridge, you ride to Üüreg Lake. You will stay for the night in Ulaangom.
Today, you will see the true wild Mongolia and feel that there are no roads here, just directions. Late in the afternoon, you will arrive at yurt camp situated amid white fanciful rocks of Khyargas Lake.
You may ride in the roundabouts or go fishing and try to catch a Mongolian osman.
Today, you will make your way through picturesque valleys, green hills, and even sand dunes. The terminal point of your today’s journey will be the camp on Zavkhan River.
Today is the shortest, though the most difficult day. Part of the route, you will make on gravel and sandy roads and another part, in a real desert. The itinerary also covers the area of the big lakes’ basins where you can find eights lakes formed as the result of tectonic activity. In the late afternoon, you will arrive at the camping on the south shore of Lake Durgen.
You are crossing the south part of the country and ride into the steppe. On your way, you can see some pasturing gazelles and yurts of locals. Then, you take the south trans-Mongolian highway and head to the town Khovd. You stay overnight at a hotel.
You will visit the biggest monastery in the west of Mongolia and attend the local bazaar where you can buy some souvenirs. After that, you ride along the picturesque Tolbo Lake on a relatively good road. You will spend the night camping.
Today, you go back to Russia. After crossing the border, you take the Chuya Highway to get to the Chibit village. There will be a late dinner, steam room, and overnight at the camp.
You may dedicate your spare day to go sightseeing or just to hang out in the camp.
Today is the longest day of the trip. You go back along the Chuya Highway. After lunch in a café, you head to your night resort where you will spend the night at a comfortable hotel.
You ride to Barnaul on a perfect road. On your way, you will visit the Chuya highway museum. In the late afternoon, you will arrive in Barnaul. On that night, the farewell dinner will take place.
Transfer to the airport. Fly to Moscow.
